Silver ETFs Surge Over 150% in 2025, Outperforming Gold ETFs and Equities Across Multiple Time Frames

Silver exchange-traded funds (ETFs) delivered stellar returns in 2025, rising by more than 150% over the year as silver prices saw a sharp rally. The strong performance made silver ETFs one of the best-performing asset classes this year, comfortably outpacing gold ETFs and equity markets across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons.

Physical silver prices climbed significantly in 2025, increasing from around USD 29 per ounce at the end of 2024 to roughly USD 76 per ounce by year-end. This dramatic rise in the underlying metal directly boosted silver ETF returns, which ranged from approximately 143% to 157% among the 31 funds analysed. The

Over the three-month and six-month periods, silver ETFs also posted eye-catching gains, with short-term returns reaching up to about 66% and medium-term returns between 100% and 110%, indicating strong momentum throughout the year.

Among the top performers, some silver ETFs delivered returns above 150%, highlighting the broad-based nature of the rally. Analysts note that growing industrial demand, investment interest, and limited supply helped fuel the surge. The robust performance of silver ETFs this year underscores shifting investor sentiment and interest in commodity-linked investment products.
