Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders is back in focus after reports suggested that the India-Germany submarine deal is moving closer to Cabinet Committee on Security approval.

The proposed deal, estimated around ₹70,000–80,000 crore, is expected to involve the construction of six advanced submarines for the Indian Navy under Project 75(I). Mazagon Dock is likely to partner with Germany’s Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems for the project.

Key Points

  • India-Germany submarine deal is reportedly nearing CCS approval.
  • Deal value is estimated around ₹70,000–80,000 crore.
  • Mazagon Dock may build six advanced submarines for the Indian Navy.
  • Germany’s TKMS is expected to be the technology partner.
