
The International Monetary Fund has recognised India’s Unified Payments Interface as the world’s largest real-time payments system. This marks a major global milestone for India’s digital payments ecosystem.
According to MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan, UPI processes nearly 75 crore transactions daily. He also stated that around 98% of transactions by value in India are now digital, reflecting the country’s strong shift towards a cashless economy.
