India’s corporate sector has shown positive signs as corporate advance tax payments increased by 18.1% YoY. At the same time, the country’s net direct tax collections grew 13% to ₹12.12 lakh crore.

Advance tax is paid by companies based on their estimated annual profits, making it an important indicator of corporate performance and earnings expectations. The rise in advance tax payments suggests that many companies are expecting better profitability.

Along with this, Securities Transaction Tax (STT) collections also witnessed strong growth, reflecting higher activity in the equity markets. Increased market participation indicates continued investor interest in stocks and financial assets.
