India-US AI Partnership: Focus on Energy and Digital Infrastructure

On September 23, 2026, India and the US discussed cooperation in energy and digital infrastructure to support the growing AI economy. A roundtable was held in New York during UN General Assembly week, bringing together more than 40 participants from industry, government, investment and academia.

  • Cooperation on AI and energy infrastructure
  • Scaling investment in data centres and AI infrastructure
  • Reliable power and grid readiness for rising AI demand
  • Mobilising capital for cross-border infrastructure
  • Aligning policy and technology frameworks
  • A report titled “Powering the AI Age” was also launched.

The rapid expansion of AI is creating growing demand not only for technology but also for power, data centres and digital infrastructure. The India-US discussions focused on strengthening this infrastructure ecosystem.
