Government okays 22 proposals under Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme; ₹41,863 crore investment expected

The Government of India has approved 22 proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) as part of its continued push to strengthen domestic electronics manufacturing and reduce import dependence. The approved proposals are expected to attract investments worth ₹41,863 crore and generate production output estimated at ₹2.58 lakh crore.

The approved projects span key segments such as mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom equipment, automotive electronics, and IT hardware components. Several leading electronics manufacturers are among the beneficiaries, reflecting strong industry participation in the scheme.

These projects will be implemented across eight states — Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan — supporting the government’s objective of developing electronics manufacturing hubs across the country.

The approvals follow earlier sanctions under the scheme and are aligned with India’s broader Production Linked Incentive (PLI) framework for electronics. Together, these initiatives aim to deepen the domestic electronics value chain, promote component-level manufacturing, create employment, and position India as a global electronics manufacturing destination.

The Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme focuses on incentivising the production of critical components such as printed circuit boards, camera modules, and other electronic and mechanical parts essential for modern devices.
