Apple Pay Finally Goes Live in India: What It Means for Indian Users

Apple Pay has officially launched in India on September 30, 2026, marking its entry into one of the world’s largest digital payment markets. Initially, the service is available for eligible Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard credit cards. Users can add their cards to Apple Wallet and make contactless payments using compatible iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches.

Apple Pay can also be used for payments in apps and on websites, with authentication through Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode. Mac support is expected soon.
