
IT major Wipro Ltd on Friday reported a 7% year-on-year decline in its consolidated net profit for the third quarter, with earnings coming in at ₹3,119 crore, impacted by margin pressures and a challenging global demand environment.
Despite the fall in profit, the company posted a rise in revenue, which grew around 6% year-on-year to ₹23,556 crore during the quarter under review, reflecting steady demand across select verticals and regions.
The company’s board of directors also declared an interim dividend of ₹6 per equity share, providing some relief to shareholders amid subdued profit growth. The record date for the dividend has been fixed, and the payout is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
Wipro said it continued to focus on cost optimisation, operational efficiencies and strengthening its large deal pipeline as clients remain cautious on discretionary technology spending. While demand conditions showed signs of stability, management indicated that near-term growth could remain muted due to macroeconomic uncertainties.
For the upcoming quarter, the company guided for flat to marginal revenue growth, highlighting ongoing caution among global clients, especially in key markets such as North America and Europe.
