Rupifi co-founder and CEO Anubhav Jain has supported Narayana Murthy’s call for young Indians to work longer hours, saying India “needs more 9-9-6 today” to accelerate economic growth.
In a LinkedIn post, Jain said extended workweeks should be viewed as a contribution to nation-building, not as glorifying hustle culture. He argued that India needs people ready to work harder and push boundaries to drive progress.
Jain referred to China’s rapid rise and its controversial 9-9-6 routine — 9 am to 9 pm, six days a week — which Murthy has cited as a model India should learn from. Although China’s Supreme Court declared the practice illegal in 2021, Murthy maintains that India must adopt a stronger work ethic to stay competitive.
Jain echoed this view, saying responsibility for national development lies with everyone, not just entrepreneurs, and professionals across sectors should be willing to put in more effort for India’s growth.
Rupifi ke co-founder aur CEO Anubhav Jain ne Narayana Murthy ke young Indians ko zyada kaam karne ke call ko support kiya hai. Unka kehna hai ki India ko economic growth fast karne ke liye “aaj 9-9-6 ki zaroorat hai.”
LinkedIn post mein Jain ne kaha ki longer workweeks ko hustle culture nahi, balki nation-building ke commitment ke roop mein dekhna chahiye. Unke hisaab se India ko aise log chahiye jo harder kaam karne, boundaries push karne aur meaningful contribution dene ke liye tayyar ho.
Jain ne China ki rapid growth ka example diya, jahan 9-9-6 routine — yani 9 am se 9 pm, 6 din ka kaam — common tha. Yeh model China ke tech sector mein popular raha, jabki 2021 mein China ke Supreme Court ne ise illegal declare kar diya tha.
Phir bhi Murthy ka maanna hai ki India ko global competition mein टिके रहने ke liye strong work ethic adopt karna hoga.
Jain ne bhi isi baat ko repeat karte hue kaha ki nation-building sirf founders ki responsibility nahi, balki har professional ko zyada effort aur time dene ke liye tayyar rehna chahiye, taaki India aage badh sake.
