Tata Motors Launches ₹9,000-Crore Jaguar Land Rover Plant in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu

Tata Motors has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) manufacturing facility in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, marking one of the largest investments by the company in the country to date.

The ₹9,000-crore plant is expected to significantly boost India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem and further strengthen Tata Motors’ position in the global electric and luxury vehicle markets.

Spread across several hundred acres, the Ranipet facility will focus on the production of next-generation Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, including models in the electric vehicle (EV) segment.

The plant is equipped with advanced robotics, automated assembly lines, and modern testing infrastructure, reflecting Tata Motors’ commitment to high-quality production standards and sustainable manufacturing practices.

The facility is projected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for the region, fostering economic growth in Tamil Nadu.

Local suppliers and ancillary industries are also expected to benefit from the increased manufacturing activities, further supporting India’s “Make in India” initiative.

Speaking at the inauguration, Tata Motors’ senior leadership emphasized that the plant will serve both domestic and international markets, strengthening India’s role as a global hub for luxury and electric vehicles.

The company aims to leverage this investment to accelerate its EV roadmap, contributing to India’s vision of sustainable mobility and reduced carbon emissions.

With the Ranipet plant operational, Tata Motors reinforces its strategy of combining global luxury standards with local manufacturing expertise, setting the stage for India to emerge as a key player in the global automotive and EV industry.
