At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held in Delhi, AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio raised serious concerns about job losses caused by Artificial Intelligence.
“Reskilling is only talk, not a real solution”
Bengio said that governments are mostly talking about reskilling programs, but the real situation is different. According to him, the people who may lose their jobs in the next 1–2 years will not be the same people who can easily get new jobs in the machine learning industry.
He called it a serious issue and said that there is no strong plan to handle it.
