AI se darr ka best solution hai action aur preparation”: Rishi Sunak

At the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that fears about artificial intelligence shouldn’t hold back progress — the best response to AI anxiety is proactive action and preparation.

Sunak, who led the UK when the first global AI Summit was held at Bletchley Park in 2023, highlighted the creation of AI security institutes as a key milestone in global AI governance. These institutes are designed to assess risks posed by AI models independently — preventing companies from simply policing themselves.

He pointed out that while AI is likely to disrupt jobs, the way forward is through openness, preparation, and building public confidence in the technology’s benefits.

This includes strengthening institutions, increasing transparency, and helping people develop the skills needed for a new AI-driven economy.

Sunak also praised India’s positive attitude toward AI, noting its digital ecosystem, innovation capabilities, and optimism among entrepreneurs as strong assets in shaping the future of AI.

In his view, AI policy should strike a balance between supporting innovation and ensuring public safety — making democratic involvement and practical readiness the core of responsible AI adoption.
