The Nifty 50 opened at a fresh all-time high of 26,325.80 on Monday, up 122.85 points, while the Sensex rose 359.25 points to 86,065.92. The rally follows India’s robust Q2 FY26 GDP growth of 8.2%, which boosted investor confidence and raised expectations of a 25 bps rate cut by the RBI in its upcoming policy meeting (December 3–5).
Market experts highlighted that low inflation and a GDP deflator of 0.5% pushed nominal GDP to 8.7%, supporting economic growth. Broader markets also gained, with the Nifty 100, Midcap, and Small Cap indices rising 0.35–0.65%, while key sectors including metals, auto, IT, PSU banks, and pharma saw broad-based gains.
Technical analysts noted that Nifty trading above key moving averages indicates continued upward momentum, while global cues like stable oil prices and steady precious metals also supported sentiment.
Investor optimism remains high as the market heads into the new trading week.
