Sensex falls 400 pts from day’s high, Nifty slips below 24,000 amid market volatility

Indian stock markets turned volatile today as the Sensex erased nearly 400 points from its intraday high, while the Nifty slipped below the important 24,000 mark.

One of the biggest reasons behind the sudden fall was profit booking, where investors started selling stocks after the recent market rally to secure gains. Along with this, monthly F&O expiry volatility increased pressure in the market, leading to sharp swings in indices.

Global uncertainty also affected sentiment. Rising concerns around the US-Iran situation and fluctuating crude oil prices made investors cautious about inflation and global economic stability.

Another reason was continued caution around FII activity, as foreign investors remained selective amid global tensions and currency pressure. Analysts also believe that markets are facing resistance near higher levels, which is increasing selling pressure whenever indices move up quickly.

Overall, today’s fall reflects that markets are still highly sensitive to global news, crude oil movement, and investor sentiment.

Do you think this market fall is just short-term profit booking, or the beginning of a bigger correction?
