As the US Dollar continues to strengthen, the Indian Rupee remains under pressure. Former Planning Commission Vice Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia believes RBI allowing the Rupee to weaken naturally during global uncertainty is the right approach.
According to him, aggressively using foreign reserves to artificially support the Rupee may hurt the economy in the long run. Rising crude oil prices, foreign investor selling, and Middle East tensions are among the biggest reasons behind the Rupee’s weakness.
Interestingly, a weaker Rupee can also help Indian export sectors like IT, pharma, and manufacturing by making products cheaper globally. However, it can also make fuel, foreign travel, and imported goods more expensive for common people.
Do you think RBI should protect the Rupee at all costs, or let the market adjust naturally?
Dollar strong hone ki wajah se Indian Rupee par pressure bana hua hai. Isi beech former Planning Commission Vice Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia ne kaha hai ki global pressure ke time RBI ka Rupee ko naturally weak hone dena galat nahi hai.
Unke according agar RBI baar-baar forex reserves kharch karke Rupee ko artificially strong rakhega, to long-term me economy par pressure badh sakta hai. Rising crude oil prices, foreign investors ki selling aur Middle East tensions Rupee ki weakness ki badi wajah hain.
Weak Rupee ka ek fayda bhi hai — isse Indian exports jaise IT, pharma aur manufacturing sectors ko benefit mil sakta hai. Lekin petrol, foreign travel aur imported goods aam logon ke liye mehange ho sakte hain.
Kya RBI ko har haal me Rupee bachana chahiye ya market ko naturally adjust hone dena sahi hai?
