NALCO Unveils New IA91 Grade Aluminium Alloy Ingot to Boost Industrial Casting Capabilities

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has launched its latest high-performance product — the IA91 Grade Aluminium Alloy Ingot — marking a significant addition to its value-added aluminium portfolio. The product was formally unveiled at NALCO’s Kolkata Stockyard by Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Commercial), in the presence of senior officials. The IA91 alloy is a silicon-based casting alloy engineered to deliver an optimal balance of superior castability, enhanced mechanical strength, and improved corrosion resistance — ideal for advanced industrial applications. It is specifically designed for use in gravity die casting and low-pressure die casting processes. This new ingot grade is expected to find wide usage across key sectors such as automotive, electrical equipment manufacturing, power equipment, industrial production, and foundries, where lightweight yet sturdy materials are increasingly in demand. Speaking on the launch, NALCO’s Chairman and Managing Director Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh said the introduction of IA91 underscores the company’s continued focus on product innovation, quality enhancement, and diversification beyond primary aluminium production to meet evolving industrial needs. NALCO’s move into this specialized alloy segment strengthens its competitive positioning in both domestic and global markets, reflecting the company’s efforts to support India’s manufacturing ecosystem with performance-oriented aluminium solutions.
