Goldman Sachs has warned that the Indian rupee could depreciate to around 95 against the US dollar within the next year, mainly due to the ongoing Middle East conflict and rising crude oil prices.
The report highlights that India’s current account deficit is expected to widen, putting additional pressure on the currency. Although inflation remains stable for now, a weaker rupee combined with higher oil prices could push inflation upward in the coming months.
This situation may force the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to take action, including tightening monetary policy if inflation rises significantly. Currently, the RBI is actively intervening in the forex market to stabilize the rupee, which is already trading near its record low levels.
Goldman Sachs ne warning di hai ki Indian rupee agle 1 saal me ₹95 per dollar tak gir sakta hai, jiska main reason Middle East conflict aur badhte crude oil prices hain.
Report ke according, India ka current account deficit badhne wala hai, jo rupee par aur pressure dalega. Abhi inflation control me hai, lekin agar oil mehenga raha aur rupee aur gira, toh inflation badh sakti hai.
Aise scenario me RBI ko intervention ya policy tightening karni pad sakti hai. Filhaal RBI forex market me actively intervene kar raha hai taaki rupee ko support mil sake, jo already apne record low ke aas-paas trade kar raha hai.
