Parliament Panel Pushes KYC-Based Age Verification for Social Media, Dating & Gaming Apps

A Parliamentary panel has recommended introducing mandatory KYC-based user verification and age-check systems across social media, dating, and gaming platforms to improve online safety, especially for women and minors. The recommendation is part of a report by the Committee on the Empowerment of Women, which highlighted the rising cases of cybercrime such as fake profiles, impersonation, cyberstalking, and online harassment.
