Gold falls below ₹1.5 lakh, silver drops ₹2,000 amid strong dollar and Trump’s Iran threat – What should investors do?

Gold and silver prices declined sharply on April 6, 2026. Gold fell below ₹1.5 lakh per 10 grams, while silver dropped by around ₹2,000. The fall is mainly driven by a stronger U.S. dollar and rising geopolitical tensions after Donald Trump warned of targeting Iran’s power plants.

At the same time, strong U.S. economic data has reduced expectations of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. This has made gold less attractive in the short term, as higher rates and a stronger dollar usually pressure precious metals.

Experts advise investors to stay cautious and focus on long-term strategies rather than reacting emotionally to short-term market volatility.

Would you buy gold on this dip or wait for more correction?
