The Nifty 50 has declined nearly 15% over the past four months, driven by global uncertainties, rising crude oil prices, and continuous foreign investor outflows. However, historical data suggests that such prolonged declines are rare and often followed by strong recoveries.
According to a report by DSP, there have only been seven instances in history where the Nifty fell for four or more consecutive months. Interestingly, in most of these cases, the market delivered strong returns afterward. On average, the index has given around 12% returns in 3 months, 22% in 6 months, and over 40% in one year after such declines.
In April 2026, the Nifty has already shown signs of recovery, rising more than 6%. However, experts caution that volatility remains high due to ongoing geopolitical tensions and uncertain global cues.
Market experts believe that while the current setup indicates a potential rebound, investors should remain cautious and focus on long-term trends rather than short-term fluctuations.
Do you think Nifty’s correction is over, or is another fall still coming?
Nifty 50 pichhle 4 mahino mein lagbhag 15% gir chuka hai, jiska main reason global tension, crude oil ke badhte daam aur foreign investors ki selling rahi hai. Lekin history kuch aur hi signal de rahi hai.
DSP ke report ke according, aise cases bahut rare hain jab Nifty lagataar 4 mahine gira ho. Aur interesting baat yeh hai ki zyada tar cases mein uske baad strong rebound dekhne ko mila hai. Average returns dekhein to 3 mahine mein ~12%, 6 mahine mein ~22% aur 1 saal mein 40%+ tak return mila hai.
April 2026 mein Nifty already 6% se zyada recover kar chuka hai, lekin experts keh rahe hain ki abhi bhi volatility high reh sakti hai kyunki global situation abhi stable nahi hai.
Experts ka maanna hai ki yeh rebound start ho sakta hai, lekin investors ko short-term ke bajay long-term mindset rakhna chahiye.
