India’s Exports Surge to $38.13 Billion in November, Nearly Double YoY
India’s merchandise exports surged to $38.13 billion in November 2025, nearly doubling from $19.37 billion during the same month last year, according to government trade data. The sharp rise reflects strong global demand for key Indian products, including petroleum goods, engineering items, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Officials said that the increase was driven by robust shipments to the US, UAE, and European markets, as well as rising crude oil prices boosting petroleum product exports. Non-petroleum items such as engineering goods, gems and jewellery, and electronics also showed healthy growth. Merchandise imports, meanwhile, rose moderately, keeping the trade balance in focus. Analysts highlighted that the export growth comes amid efforts to diversify markets under India’s trade promotion schemes and ongoing support for manufacturing and export-oriented industries. The government views the performance as a positive indicator for the economy, signalling resilience in Indian exports despite global economic uncertainties, and boosting hopes of meeting full-year export targets.
