Indian stock markets witnessed a volatile session on 28 April 2026, with the Sensex falling over 400 points and the Nifty slipping below the crucial 24,000 mark by the close. After a cautious opening near 24,035, selling pressure intensified during the day.
The major reason behind the decline was the sharp rise in Brent crude above $110 per barrel, triggered by persistent US–Iran geopolitical tensions. Higher oil prices raised concerns over India’s inflation outlook, current account pressure, and corporate margins.
Banking stocks also remained under pressure after fresh concerns around RBI’s stricter credit-loss provisioning norms, which dragged private and PSU banks lower. Auto stocks, especially Maruti Suzuki, also weighed on the indices after weaker-than-expected earnings sentiment.
However, selective buying continued in oil & gas stocks like ONGC and Coal India, which outperformed due to higher crude prices and strong Q4 earnings support.
Do you think Nifty falling below 24,000 is a warning sign for another correction, or a buying opportunity for smart investors?
28 April 2026 ko Indian stock market mein volatility dekhne ko mili, jahan Sensex 400+ points gir gaya aur Nifty 24,000 ke neeche close hua.
Saath hi banking stocks par bhi pressure dekhne ko mila, kyunki RBI ke new provisioning norms ne investors ko cautious kar diya. Auto sector bhi weak raha, especially Maruti Suzuki jaise stocks mein pressure dekhne ko mila.
Positive side par ONGC aur Coal India jaise oil & gas stocks strong रहे, kyunki higher crude prices unke liye positive signal maane ja rahe hain.
Aapko kya lagta hai — kya Nifty ka 24,000 ke neeche close ek warning sign hai ya smart buying opportunity?
