PM Modi Inaugurates 594-km Ganga Expressway, Travel Time from Meerut to Prayagraj Cut to 6 Hours

In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure and connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 594-km-long Ganga Expressway, one of the state’s biggest road infrastructure projects. The high-speed six-lane corridor now connects Meerut to Prayagraj, significantly reducing travel time from nearly 11–12 hours to around 6 hours.

The expressway passes through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh and is expected to become a major economic lifeline for the state. Along with faster passenger travel, it is likely to strengthen logistics, industrial investment, agricultural supply chains, and regional development across western, central, and eastern UP.

Experts believe this mega corridor can be a game changer for businesses, freight movement, and real estate growth along the route. The project is also being seen as a catalyst for the development of industrial hubs and manufacturing corridors in the coming years.

Overall, this is being viewed as one of the biggest infrastructure milestones for Uttar Pradesh in recent times.
