Adani Power has signed major agreements to acquire a 24% stake in Jaiprakash Power Ventures along with the 180 MW Churk thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh. The total deal value is estimated at more than ₹4,193 crore.
The acquisition is part of the NCLT-approved resolution plan for Jaiprakash Associates and will strengthen Adani Power’s presence in India’s thermal power sector. The company will pay around ₹2,993 crore for the JP Power stake and another ₹1,200 crore for the Churk power assets and related holdings.
With this deal, Adani Power will gain exposure to power generation, coal mining, and cement-related assets connected to JP Power. The move is also being seen as another major expansion step for the broader Adani Group after winning the ₹14,535 crore bid for Jaiprakash Associates earlier this year.
